LOEWE's Act of Positivity
Proceeds from an exclusive new T-shirt collection from Loewe featuring selected works by the iconic American artist, writer, filmmaker and activist David Wojnarowicz (1954 - 1992) will go to the Visual AIDS Foundation, founded in 1988 to preserve and promote the work of H.I.V.-positive artists. With support from the P.P.O.W Gallery in New York, which represents the artist's estate, Jonathan Anderson has handpicked a series of photographs for T shirts that coincides with the LOEWE FOUNDATION’s exhibition of works by Wojnarowicz and his mentor Peter Hujar, on view at the brand’s Gran Via store in Madrid from June through late August as part of the annual international photography festival PHotoEspaña.
Launching 31st May at Printed Matter Bookstore in New York, the T-shirts priced at 79€/$99will be a limited run of 400 per design, and available in the UK at Dover Street Market, the LOEWE Mount Street Store and on LOEWE.com
LOEWE dedicates this project to the loving memory of Shannon Michael Cane (1974-2017), Printed Matter’s curator of Fairs & Edition.
