A new Vivienne Westwood exhibition lands in New York City
Vivienne Westwood, Andreas Kronthaler & Juergen Teller have opened a brand new exhibition at the New York City flagship Vivienne Westwood store, running from September until November 2017. The six story building has been transformed into a gallery space and will house a collection that explores the relationship between the trio.
Since the Nineties the three fashion icons have worked together and the exhibition will bring together the numerous campaigns, portraits & muses, political satire, editorials and art projects created by the them through photography, set pieces and looks from archive campaigns and collections.
Of Teller and her work with him over the years, Westwood herself said “Juergen’s got something very rare, he’s got really good taste, and more than anything that makes him good at his work. Juergen somehow always manages to get the picture, he gets to the route of the matter every time when he takes a photograph.” Teller responded in a similar manner, “for ten years I’m working with Vivienne and Andreas and every time I find it super exciting”.
The exhibition will lie alongside a new book, which showcases the work of the trio. The 258-page book will explore the work between one of fashion's most exciting collaborative forces over twenty years.
