Stone Island Shadow Project
Words: Eric Medina
The Stone Island Spring/Summer 17 collection is more than a seasonal launch, it’s a wearable project in which the proof is in the fabrics. The ‘Shadow Project’ features performance clothing with a sporty-meets-street aesthetic for guys who appreciate fine details.
At a glance, hoodies having a marble effect or jackets in metallic colors are definitely dope, but upon closer look, we find that the iridescence or fallout colors on the clothes are a result of their expertise in garment dyeing.
The pieces undergo a range of signature fabric construction procedures that includes double-dyeing, hand coloring, and silver mist treatments.
You don’t have to know the science to see and feel the brand’s passion for textile research –especially within this project, with items that promote ideal wear-ability, provide water and stain repellency, and showcase signature dyeing techniques.
This collection’s fresh light jackets, mesh vests, and cargo pants are eye-catching picks for contemporary spring style.
