Supreme x Lacoste

Supreme x Lacoste

Words: Patrick Galizio

French fashion magnate Lacoste and millennial sportswear pundit Supreme have released a Spring/Summer 2017 collection of rebranded heritage, adapting archival croc pieces in a collaborative collection of youthful resurgence. Repurposing a range of staple pieces, including the Harrington jacket, tennis sweater, track pants, pique crewneck, and more, the line embraces the youth-centric street-style of the Manhattan label while simultaneously upholding the tradition of Lacoste’s country club aesthetic. With two brands born and bred on their logo iconography, the range highlights the curled green crocodile and the mega-heavy lettering of each brand’s respective designs, diverting attention from the wardrobe to the ethos of the labels. No stranger to collaborative projects themselves, the two brands pump energetic new life into an athleisure line that rages against a conservative status quo.
