The Nikelab Sock Dart gets a Stone Island makeover
Since its debut in 2004, t's fair to say that Tobias Hatfield's Nike Sock Dart has become a cult favourite. It was a dramatic new step for Nike and its computerised knit upper (later to become the Nike Flyknit) paved the way for its success.
Now Nikelab has teamed up with Stone Island as the shoe enters a new stage - it is the first time the shoe has been given the mid cut treatment and is now water resistant thanks to Stone Island's expertise with fabrication combined with Nike's sandwich mesh fabric. Graphically the engineered print is a first for Nike and stands as a testament to Stone Island’s legacy of textile innovation. The shoe's upper a fading dégradé effect, guarantees both zonal protection and breathability and helps maintain the Sock Dart's signature flexibility.
It isn't hard to see why the Sock Dart has become a classic must-have and now it's about get a whole new legion of fans thanks to its partnership with Stone Island (the Nineties favourite is slowly creeping up on the likes of Supreme and Palace with its huge cult following).
