Drake & Morgan Kings Cross
We were recently invited down to Drake & Morgan's new flagship bar and restaurant in the new development in Kings Cross, located on Pancras Square between Kings Cross and St Pancras stations and it certainly didn't disappoint. This new large multi purpose hot spot has been beautifully designed to accommodate your every need, wether you're grabbing breakfast, 'hot-desking' in the afternoon, branching with friends on the weekend or partying in the evening , DMKX has what you want.
We dined in their ground floor restaurant and selected a variety of dishes from their menu which ticks all boxes, robats grilled meat and fish, wagyu burgers, pasta dishes, sharing plates and a handful of seasonal salads. The food is great and well priced but it's the drinks which set this place apart from its competition.
After dinner we made our way to their basement which they name 'The Green Room' and this space is by no means style over substance. The bar is stunning and caters to small and very large groups. As there were only a few of us we sat at the bar and ordered a few rounds of cocktails from there very well written drinks menu. The drinks were not only gorgeous to look at but tasted out of this world and served with a smile which is a rarity in London nowadays.
Conceptually Drake & Morgan have nailed it. Its doors open from 8am and close at 1am. If you like, Bars Manager Jay Newell (ex Soho House & Sushi Samba) runs cocktail classes tailored to your groups needs so you can learn a thing or two while getting slightly tipsy!
This place is also available for partial and private hire and most other events you wish to run and will help you in the process.
Kings Cross is still developing and set for big things, Drake & Morgan have positioned themselves perfectly among their neighbours which currently include Google, YouTube, The Guardian, Louis Vuitton and Central St Martins university. Huge thanks to Jay Newell for for the invitation and his teams hospitality, we'll definitely be back soon!
